About GreenhouseGrid
An independent greenhouse buying database for U.S. homeowners and serious hobby growers. We are not a manufacturer, and we do not sell greenhouses.
Buying a greenhouse is a consequential purchase. A durable rigid kit typically runs somewhere between roughly $800 and $15,000 before you have paid for a foundation, freight, electrical work, heating or assembly. It is expensive enough to research carefully — and complicated enough that careful research is genuinely hard.
The information exists. It is simply scattered. Manufacturers publish detailed specifications for their own products. Retailers publish price and availability for the products they carry. Installers understand what installation actually involves. Owners know what really happened after delivery. But no one has put those four things together in one format, and no one who has assembled part of it is neutral about which greenhouse you should buy.
So a buyer ends up with fifteen browser tabs and a spreadsheet, comparing a 32 psf snow rating against a "heavy-duty" marketing claim, with no idea whether the cheaper listing is actually cheaper after freight.
What we're building
GreenhouseGrid organizes that fragmented information into a standardized, independent data layer. The goal is to answer the questions that cross company boundaries — the ones no single manufacturer or retailer can answer for you:
- Where else is this exact greenhouse sold, and are those listings really the same model?
- Is the cheaper listing still cheaper after freight and residential delivery?
- Has this greenhouse historically sold for less than it costs today?
- What does the complete project cost, once foundation and installation are included?
- Which specifications did the manufacturer actually publish, and which are marketing language?
- What did real owners spend, and how long did assembly really take?
What we are not
- Not a retailer. We don't hold inventory, so we have no reason to steer you toward what's in a warehouse.
- Not a manufacturer. We have no product line to defend.
- Not a "best greenhouse of 2026" list. Rankings are cheap. Verified, sourced, comparable data is not.
How we pay for it
GreenhouseGrid may earn a commission when a reader buys through certain retailer links. That is the first way we intend to fund the work, and we disclose it clearly. What matters is the rule around it: commission rate is not an input into our rankings, comparisons or specifications. If we ever break that rule, the entire point of the project is gone.

Where the project is today
Early. Honestly early. The database is being assembled by hand, model by model, because we want to understand how inconsistently this category publishes its specifications before we automate anything. Price recording has begun, because price history is the one asset that cannot be created retroactively — you either started collecting it or you didn't.
The landing page you just came from is doing a specific job: finding out whether real greenhouse buyers actually want this. If they do, we build it properly. If they don't, we'd rather learn that now.
If you're shopping for a greenhouse right now, the most useful thing you can do is tell us which model you're considering — or just tell us what you're stuck on. Both genuinely shape what gets built first.
